VALUES
Worship
  (John 4:24; Ephesians 5:18-20)
"For God is Spirit, so those who worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth."   John 4:24

True worship begins when we place our faith in Jesus Christ, believing that He died and was resurrected as a payment for our penalty for our sins.  Worship is our response to God for who He is and what He has done in our lives.  It is expressed by the things we say and the way we live everyday.  Worship is a lifestyle.

Community  (Ephesians 4:1-6; Hebrews 10:24-25)
Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.    Hebrews 10:24-25

Community is created by the Holy Spirit and strengthened as Christians participate together in service, study, prayer, worship or common activities.  It is based on caring relationships and a shared faith in Christ.  It is held together by our love for Christ and each other and grounded in spiritual accountability.

Growth  (John 8:31; Ephesians 4:14-15; Philippians 3:14)
Then we will no longer be immature like children. We won’t be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching. We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth. Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church.     Ephesians 4:14-15

Growth happens when we steadily move toward spiritual maturity.  It is guiding people in a life long obedient relationship with Christ through the study and application of His teachings.

Service  (Epheisians 4:11-13; Mark 10:45; 1 Peter 4:10-11)
For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give His life as a ransom for many."    Mark 10:45

Service is a loving response in Jesus’ name to the needs of persons both inside the church family and outside the church.  Jesus showed us that the most influential life is a life of sacrificial service.  When we are motivated by His great love for us, we extend that love through our own hands and feet in acts of service to others.

Missions  (Matthew 28:19-20)
Jesus said, "Go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.  Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you."    Matthew 28:19-20a

Missions is speading the good news of Jesus Christ.  It consists of telling and showing God's love for others through our commitment to the Great Commission

CORE BELIEFS
1.  About God
God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three personalities: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.  These three are co-equal and are one God.

Genesis 1:1,26,27, 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19

2.  About Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is the Son of God.  He is co-equal with the Father.  Jesus was born of a virgin, lived a sinless human life, and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross.  He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death.  He ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return again someday to earth to reign as King of Kings, and Lord of Lords.

Matthew 1:22, 23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5; 14:10-30

3.  About the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son of God.  He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ.  He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation.  He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right.  He gives every believer a spiritual gift when they are saved.  As Christians, we seek to live under His control daily.

2 Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13, 14:16,17; Galatians 5:25

4.  About the Bible
The Bible is God’s Word to us.  It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit.  It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living.  Because it is inspired by God, it is the truth without error.

2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20,21; 2 Timothy 1:13

5.  About Human Beings
People are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character.  People are the supreme object of God’s creation.  We must love one another.  Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called “sin”.  This attitude separates people from God and causes many problems in life.

Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6a; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1,2

6.  About Salvation
Salvation is God’s free gift to us but we must accept it.  We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works.  Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin’s penalty.  When we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith we are saved.

Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8,9; John 14:6, 1:12; Titus 3:5

7.  About Eternity
People were created to exist forever.  We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation.  To be eternally separated from God is hell.  To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life.  Heaven and hell are real places of eternal existence.

John 3:16; John 14:17; Romans 6:23; Romans 8:17-18
